September 2 2005 - Gilford, NH
I am a very lucky man. I get a chance to play with this band and to hear great music. It is always a kick to look out at the crowd and see some people that might not know how to react to what we do, but by the end of our show they have found something to get into.
This seems to be the case with the past four shows. There are more than a few people at the show last night that seem to not really want to get involved with the Hornsby experience. But by the end of our show they were as involved as anyone else. It's easy to perform for the ones that dig and know what you do. But, the ones that are sitting on their hands, that is another story.
When we look out at the crowd and see a person just bumming, it's funny. That just makes us play harder. Last night it took some work, and when we came out there were not a lot of people there to party with us. But by the end of the show, I think most people came along for the ride. Thanks for giving us a chance. Once again the band played great, and we had some good moments. I am trying to enjoy these last few shows. We are winding down our summer tour and I don't know when we will be out again.
Thanks New Hampshire for showing us a good time. Nice people there.
And now it is time for a round of golf. Yes! We have another day off and another round on the course. I am ready to win the Masters ;-D
Peace, JV
