Day two, the first leg of summer tour.
When I first joined the band, we never played casinos. But things started changing and over time we have had some great show in casino showrooms. Tonight we are in Reno, NV. "The Biggest Little Town In The World", at least that's what the sign outside the city limits says.
We are all pumped up from the show last night in Henderson. The bus ride was great and everyone felt great. I loved the hotel that we were performing at. I've stayed at this hotel many, many times. They have a golf driving range in the back, and 24 hours bowling. But best of all, they have a Sushi Bar. I don't know if any of you know this but Bruce and I are sushi fanatics. I could eat sushi 24-7. So the show was already a success for me ;-).
Showtime! The band hit the stage with such energy, it was clear that Bruce and the rest of us were feeling great about last night and wanted to push the envelope for this show. The great thing about this band, and everyone in it, seems to be that we can get on the same musical plain (spooky!). We always connect on stage, even for the bad shows. But, on the special shows, it can be crazy good. This was a crazy good show. Bruce led the band down some really fun roads, and the crowd came along for the ride.
The crowd gave us the same energy that we tried to give them, and that helps the show even more. I also have to give thanks to the stage dancers. I love it when Bruce invites the dancers to the stage. It can get scary sometimes, when we lose eye contact with Bruce. But, it's always fun, keep up the good work. And for you people that really want to have a laugh, take a look at Doug (guitar) at the next dance party.
Peace
