July 17 - Day three,

We had a great day off in Santa Barbara, CA.

The hotel was across the street from the Pacific Ocean. The morning started off with a great marine layer over the ocean that burned off around 11 am to reveal blue skies and even more blue water. A craft fair and para-sailors, sail boats and swimmers. Those of you that have spent time with me know that I don't swim, and in fact won't even walk on the beach because I'm afraid of sand crabs and I don't like sand on my feet. I know it's stupid, but those little crabs can be dangerous:-) But the area was beautiful.

The show was at a great old theatre. Very small, I think it held six hundred. The sound on stage bothered all of us and I don't think that this was one of our better shows. Bruce played a couple of solo piano songs and I love it when he does that. (I get a break):-). But I think the crowd loved it. The dance party was small. The highlight of the show was the fan that Bruce invited on stage to sing. I love the people that can join our mess and not miss a beat (Thanks Al for entertaining us). This was a good show but not great. The stage sound was sucking the life out of us.

Uuuuggghhhhh! I'm drained. Also the heat and humidity wrecked the neck of my basses. For those of you that don't know, climate changes can move the bass neck around. Without getting too tech heavy, I'll just say that it was a big problem for me all night. Thanks Reggie (drum and guitar tech) for helping this poor soul out.

Today is another day off, there may be a golf outing in my future. But, now I'm off to the weight room. Take care and I'll write more soon. Hey a "BIGGGGG SHOUT OUT TO SI"!!!! YOU DA MAN!

Peace,

JV:-)
