July 19

A day off. Now most people take full advantage of their down time. But not me. Here is an example of a day off for me. We get to Anaheim, CA at 3:00AM. I notice that they have a great fitness center. I'm stoked! I don't go to bed (I don't want to take the chance that someone will beat me to the gym and wear out the treadmill), At 7:00AM I'm in the gym for my 30 minute run. Next is the weight room. I start pumping iron as if I am the Hulk, never mind that my doctor has advised me to take it easy for now in the weight lifting department. I'm having a little problem with carpal tunnel in both wrists. The doctor thinks with a little rest all will be okay. But do I take his advice? NO!!! Lets keep pumping iron for an hour and a half. Not tired yet. An indoor full court basketball gym. I gotta shoot for another hour. On my way back to the room, something does not feel right. That's okay, I've got a lunch date with an old friend of mine. Back to the hotel by 3:30PM. We make plans for dinner at 8:00PM. Just enough time to practice (again against doctor's orders). Practice until 7:45PM, time for dinner. Back at 11:00PM. Lets surf the web until 4 or 5:00AM. Boy I'm tired, what happened to the day off? Look at the time, I've need to be up by 7:00AM to work out again. I am a dummy! :-)
