Diary: Westbury, NY – August 12 2008

Okay Westbury! I’ve played this place since 1984. My first time here was with Gladys Knight and The Pips. I’ve since played this place at least once a year since then. The stage used to go around and it was always a trip to stand on that stage and know that some had a view of your butt! Yikes! How embarrassing. Now the theatre is called The North Fork Theatre @ Westbury. What the hell :( That is way to much for me to say. By the time I get all of that out, I won’t care anymore :)

The stage no longer circles and they have curtained off a third of the seats(bummer), But the audience is still right on top of you, and this makes for a very intimate setting.

Westbury’s audience have always been fun and lively. This was no exception. This was also the second night that Bruce had a chance to invite the lady stage dance. This is usually a great time for all. But, I think the security at Westbury did not dig our dance night. I think the stage was not strong enough to support the mighty dancers of Westbury.

With each night the band is getting tighter, and a little more adventurous. We were taking baby steps in the beginning, and now we are running like Carl Lewis. Hold on everyone, we are going drive this car until the wheels fall off!!
